Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or filling in gaps in your own toolkit, brands like DeWalt, Ryobi, Craftsman, Milwaukee and Gearwrench have started slashing prices. You can already save as much as 50 percent on workshop essentials, including cordless tools, ladders, shop vacs, and a variety of hand tools.

With every retailer claiming to offer unprecedented prices on Black Friday, finding the best deals–whether you’re looking for tools, TVs, or a new Carhartt jacket–can be a bit of a challenge. Shopping on Amazon and have your eye on a few items you hope will go on sale? Using these tools can save you time and energy, and let you press “buy” without worrying that there’s another, cheaper option out there.

While you’ll find all manner of tools at discount prices on Black Friday, some types of tools and tool brands are more ubiquitous than others. DeWalt and Milwaukee, two of the top tool brands in the business, love to lean into sales events, and you can always find a good price on a cordless drill from one of these brands.

Right now, both brands are offering incredible savings on combo packs with multiple cordless tools, which is perfect for new DIY-ers looking to expand their collection. That said, if you cast a wide net, chances are you will find a good discount on any kind of tool you need–we’ve already highlighted deals on everything from mechanic’s tool sets to ladders and air compressors.

Milwaukee power tools are among the most sought-after by serious DIYers, so getting a nine-piece set for half-off is a huge find if you’re looking to upgrade.
